FILM & VOLUME

Woman in pond - two volumes intersecting.

black and white version of woman in pond creates interest by making the water appear to be more surface than volume (consistent vs. perceptual vision.)

auto white balance set to "shade"

Cloudy sky on off-white surface enhances grey filmic atmosphere. White balance is set to "cloudy"

  1. Green Liquid:
What is that liquid? The color appears to shift slightly between the first two images. The black and white image diffuses some of the small details of light refelction in the bottle, which makes one pay more attention to these shifts with multpile images. Also notice the refraction of the pump stem and how it appears to shift in its angle as it meets the liquid. Thanks for the great example!

Kite (?): This object which looks like it ould be a kite or some other kkind of tranparent nylon material does really take on a film-like quality in a very subtle manner. Only when you compare images and notice a slight color shift does one see its appearance. Nice work.

Marble: This is a great example of how color is affected and changes throughout a volume. The light refractions as quite interesting and I also notice in the contrast between the color images and the back and white image the reflection of the marble in the surface of the table. Lots of luster in all parts of this images.
