Examples of illuminants. I like how part of the streetlight is swallowed by the sun in the middle photograph.

Illumination

The photos of the bed were taken just a few seconds apart with the same camera setting. In the top photo a cloud passed in front of the sun, and the bottom photo is in full sunlight.

film/volume

Examples of volume and film: fish tank, water bottle and view of the city from the Staten Island Ferry on a foggy day.

Surface

I explored the effects of color and light on a reflective surface (glass wall of a bus stop). The black and white photo captured the reflection better than I expected.
